Photos from the US Olympic Center Physiology Lab

First off, the travel was beautiful. There was a great contingent of coaches from all parts of the country, with a pretty good contingent coming from New York City. So, a good crowd happened to descend on the US Olympic Training Center to see how the top athletes were being developed for the Beijing 2008 olympics.

The Olympic Flame Exhibit as you enter the Complex.

This is the actual lab, where Olympic Hopefuls are tested and analyzed by physiologists for the purpose of getting them into their best shape for the Olympics.

Another part of the lab.

Largest treadmill I've ever seen. The machine can go more than 15 MPH and can be adjusted with an incline or decline of 15% grade.

Physiologist cubicle within lab. Sign reads DO NOT FEED THE PHYSIOLOGISTS.

One of the nicest pools I've seen. 50 meters long by 25 meters wide, and engineered to deliver fast swims.

Another shot of the pool.

Now this is a Fitness Center!

Me in front of the Globe in the Olympic Complex. Shameless plug.

Aside from the constant lack of oxygen, I've learned a lot here and would love to come again. Good luck to the athletes in the Beijing Olympics. Go USA!
